Massage / Myotherapy

Global Chiropractic provides a number of different services, two of these being Massage  and Myotherapy.

The Predominant types of massage at Global Chiropractic are:

Relaxation Massage: Aimed at relaxing the muscle tissue and body as a whole using light, slower soothing strokes.

Services

Therapeutic Massage: Aimed at relaxing and loosening the muscle structure using a fimer pressue and slightly quicker strokes than a relaxation massage.

Remedial Massage: The predominant massage of choice by our clients. A deeper pressure massage aimed at lengthening muscles and deactivating trigger points to prevent muscle imbalance in the body.

Sports Massage: Can be performed pre- or post-game. A pre-game massage will be tailored towards optimum performance while the post-game massage will focus on the body recovering from the event. The massage technigues, pressure used and speed of strokes will be determined by when the event is, and how long before or after the event the massage is performed.

Pregnancy Massage: Aimed at providing muscular releif from aches and pains or preventing this from occurring, massage can be safely performed during pregnancy. The techniques used and position the mother is placed in is dependant on what stage of pregnancy she is in; each case is assessed individually. An example may be: up to 11 weeks lying face down; 11-27 weeks lying face down with a pillow as support under stomach region; 27-40 weeks either side lying position or lying face down with a larger pillow as support under the stomach region.

Male and female masseurs as well as a male Myotherapist are available for consultations at Global Chiropractic. >> Why do so many children visit a chiropractor?

The answer is simple - babies and children can also have a vertebral subluxation (a condition of the spine) which not only upsets the normal movement of spinal bones, but also disturbs the normal healthy function of the nervous system.
