Chiropractic Care

Your First Visit

Firstly we will sit with you and discuss your current and past health to assess if Chiropractic Care is for you. If we decide it is then we will conduct a thorough Chiropractic examination as well as Neurological and Orthopedic examinations to determine the cause of your problems. You may be referred for x-rays if clinically indicated (not usually Children), where they are bulk billed. The x-rays will help to determine the cause of your problems. How long these problems have been there as well as rule out any contraindications to Chiropractic Care. If x-ray results are required before you begin care your first adjustment maybe not until your next visit. If this is the case we always have availability to get you started as soon as possible. Once you have your x-rays, which can be done within the same day if time permits, you can expect to be in the office for around 45-60 minutes.

Second Visit

In this visit, we will go through the findings from your first visit and from the x-rays if they were required. This information will be given in an easy way for you to understand. You will also be given information to take home with you about your unique situation.

We will let you know what we can do to help, how long it will take and how much it will cost.

Care will usually begin on the second visit if we believe we can help.

Allow 45-60 minutes for your second visit.

Regular Visits

Your regular office visits are short but just as important. We assess your nervous system, then give you a Chiropractic adjustment (gentle specific movements to the spine). Throughout your care, we re-run the examinations to monitor your progress. For these re-examinations, we do allow a few extra minutes to perform them. You will receive the results in the visit following the re-examination. We take you through any rehab exercises or lifestyle changes we may suggest you start incorporating to enhance your results.

Most regular visits will take around 5-20 minutes depending on what you are presenting with on the day. We respect your time and aim to be running on time for each of your visits.

X-ray for an initial Chiropractic consultation

After a comprehensive examination, our Chiropractors will determine if x-rays are required. If so our Chiropractors will refer you to have these taken locally.

Note: Remedial Massage therapists do not refer for x-rays.

Children

Our Chiropractic assistants love to look after our client’s babies/children while they are being adjusted. We have toys, colourings and books in our office to keep them entertained, we encourage you to bring the whole family.

General Practice Information

Arriving Early

We encourage our new clients to arrive 15 minutes prior to their first appointment in order to fill out our new client history forms, this will assist our Chiropractors in determining how we can help you best.
Alternatively, our lovely staff can email these forms through to you prior to your appointment, that way you can have them all filled out on arrival and will only need to come five minutes prior to your appointment time.

Health Fund Rebates

If your private health insurance includes Remedial Massage and/or Chiropractic care in your extras cover, it will cover part of the cost of each appointment. 99% of our clients can claim directly through our terminal at Global Chiropractic.

Rescheduling

We understand that sometimes things come up, we do appreciate 24 hours’ notice if you are unable to attend an appointment. We encourage you to call us on (03) 5444 3388. Our lovely staff can reschedule that appointment to a more suitable time.

We also recommend if you are on a schedule recommended by one of our massage therapists, you reschedule as close to your original appointment so your care is not compromised.

Should I attend when I am sick?

As per COVID-19 infection control guidelines, we have added safety measures to protect our staff and clients. We kindly ask that you inform our staff if you are sick or feeling unwell.
